Sixth-ranked UCLA rallied in the final round to beat archrival USC by three strokes in the Gifford Collegiate Championship at CordeValle Country Club in San Martin.
The Bruins, who won for the 23rd time in eight seasons under Coach Derek Freeman, posted a score of 355-346-349–1050, 15-under-par.
USC finished at 353-345-355–1053, followed by Stanford at 352-357-347–1066, Texas at 359-362-348–1069, Northwestern at 360-353-358–1071, South Florida at 363-360-363–1086 and SMU at 371-355-361–1087.
Freshman Dylan Wu of Northwestern birdied the last two holes to claim the individual title at 69-68-67–204, 9-under, one stroke ahead of Jake Knapp of UCLA, who finished at 66-70-69–205.
Lorens Chans of UCLA shot 71-67-68–206 and tied for third with Paul Smith of USC, who totaled 67-73-66-206, and Doug Ghim of Texas, who wound up at 66-74-66–306.
Viraat Badhwar of Stanford was solo sixth at 69-71-69–209, while his Cardinal teammate, David Boote, shot 68-73-69–210 and tied for eight with another teammate, Franklin Huang, who finished at 73-71-66–210.
Jonathan Garrick of UCLA totaled 72-68-71–211 and tied for 10th with Sean Crocker of USC, who wound up at 69-68-74–211.
