Warman Birdie on 18 Wins San Clemente City

Hometown favorite Mark Warman made five birdies on the first seven holes of the final round but needed a six-foot birdie putt on the last hole to beat Dan Sullivan of Pasadena by one stroke and win the San Clemente City Championship at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course http://www.san-clemente.org/recreation-community/golf.

Warman, who played at San Diego State and captured this championship two years ago in addition to the 2009 California State Open, carded a score of 67-66—133, 11-under-par, while first-round leader Sullivan and 2014 champion finished at 64-70—134.

Taylor Casper of San Juan Capistrano was third at 66-70—136, followed by Quentin Hill of Laguna Niguel at 70-68—138.

Nick Cantlay of Los Alamitos shot 67-72—139 to tie for fifth with Jake Marek of Westlake Village, who finished at 70-68—139, and Jim Spurlock of Anaheim at 71-68—139.

Griffin Pace of Irvine was eighth at 71-69—140, while Justin Hales of Newport Beach totaled 73-68—141 to tie for ninth with Matt McGreeney of San Pedro, who finished at 72-69—141, and Chris Rendler of Costa Mesa, who came in at 71-70—141.

Sapo King-Ramos, 17, of South Pasadena won the Junior title with score of 71-73—144, while Greg Schweitzer of San Clemente claimed the Senior title at 72-72—144.
