Warman Birdie on 18 Wins San Clemente City

Hometown favorite Mark Warman made five birdies on the first seven holes of the final round but needed a six-foot birdie putt on the last hole to beat Dan Sullivan of Pasadena by one stroke and win the San Clemente City Championship at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course

Warman, who played at San Diego State and captured this championship two years ago in addition to the 2009 California State Open, carded a score of 67-66—133, 11-under-par, while first-round leader Sullivan and 2014 champion finished at 64-70—134.

Taylor Casper of San Juan Capistrano was third at 66-70—136, followed by Quentin Hill of Laguna Niguel at 70-68—138.

Nick Cantlay of Los Alamitos shot 67-72—139 to tie for fifth with Jake Marek of Westlake Village, who finished at 70-68—139, and Jim Spurlock of Anaheim at 71-68—139.

Griffin Pace of Irvine was eighth at 71-69—140, while Justin Hales of Newport Beach totaled 73-68—141 to tie for ninth with Matt McGreeney of San Pedro, who finished at 72-69—141, and Chris Rendler of Costa Mesa, who came in at 71-70—141.

Sapo King-Ramos, 17, of South Pasadena won the Junior title with score of 71-73—144, while Greg Schweitzer of San Clemente claimed the Senior title at 72-72—144.
