Travelers Championship Betting Odds, Preview and Picks

Dustin Johnson will look to defend his title at the 2021 Travelers Championship this weekend. The second-ranked player in the world beat Kevin Streelman by one stroke last year thanks to a crazy 61 in the third round.

Johnson is one of the favorites (place your bets from any state with our partner BetOnline.ag) this week at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut. Let’s check out the rest of the field, including the favorites and longshots that might take home the trophy and put money in your pocket!

Favorites to Follow

Currently, Bryson DeChambeau is the tournament favorite. DeChambeau has 12-1 odds to win the Travelers Championship. He finished T6 here last year, and he has finished T9 in the Travelers Championship for each of the last three years. He has just one round north of 68 in his last 12 rounds played on this track, and that should put him in contention.

The defending champ, DJ, has the second-shortest odds to win the 2021 Travelers Championship. Johnson was not one of the Top 30 finishers in his three previous tournaments here at TPC River Highlands, but he claimed the trophy in just his second appearance here last year. It might be wise to avoid Johnson though as he has not finished higher than T8 since winning the Masters last November.

We saw Brooks Koepka do what he always does at majors last week. Koepka has won the U.S. Open twice and the PGA Championship twice, and he has 15 Top 10 finishes in majors since 2014. He has alternated top of the leaderboard finishes with missed cuts since November, though. In the seven events Koepka has finished this season, he has six T7 finishes but has also failed to make the cut six times. He is the ultimate boom or bust pick.

Longshots to Watch

It’s been a rough season for Rickie Fowler. He failed to finish higher than T20 in 14 tournaments up until the Valero Texas Open in April. Fowler missed the cut in his next two events, but he has looked much better over the last 30 days or so. He finished T8 at the PGA Championship last month and earned a T11 at The Memorial a couple weeks ago. Fowler and his wife just announced they were expecting a baby, and what better way could he celebrate than to cash as a 50-1 underdog.

Bubba Watson is the second-most successful golfer in the long history of this PGA Tour stop. Billy Casper won four Travelers Championships between 1963 and 1973, and Watson won this event in 2010, 2015 and 2018. Although Watson is now 42 years old, he is always a threat to win here at TPC River Highlands. Watson has a T2, a T4 and a T6 here to go with the three wins, so it’s easy to talk yourself into taking a shot with him at 40-1.

2021 Travelers Championship Odds and Picks

The two golfers to watch at this event are DeChambeau and Watson. DeChambeau has the power to win any event with his driver, while Watson knows what it takes to win on this course. After a solid mid-tourney showing at the U.S. Open last week, our money is on Watson to earn his fourth Travelers Championship.
