Titleist has updated their driver lineup announcing the GTS family where the S stands for Speed. The clubhead is comprised of rear and front sections including the face made from titanium while the remainder is thermoform polymer that significantly changes the weight distribution. The body surface is 60% thermoform polymer twice the amount used in the previous GT drivers of 2024,26 grams compared with 13 grams.
Engineers were able to relocate the saved weight towards the rear for added stability in all three versions and provide the performance characteristics of launch angle and spin needed by a range of player skill levels.
Coupled with the adjustable hosel and the movable weights fitting to individual players is a given.
“When we talk about driver design, it’s never about the one feature or benefit — it’s about all of them,” said Stephanie Luttrell, Titleist’s Senior Director of Metalwood R&D. “Ball speed, forgiveness, spin stability, adjustability, exceptional sound and feel… these are all attributes that golfers care about. It’s our job to design a lineup that elevates performance across the board without sacrificing in key areas, and we feel we’ve done that with GTS.”
