Dave Podas of Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles and Andrew Larkin of UCLA captured the Southern California PGA’s Yamaha Senior-Junior Championship at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.
Podas (pictured, left) and Larkin collected 11 birdies and an eagle to finish at 13-under- par and 61 to win by three strokes.
Gary Sowinski of the Hodges Golf Learning Center in Escondido and Steve Holmes of Westlake Golf Course in Westlake Village finished at 64 to tie for fourth with Grant Strobel of Carmel Mountain Ranch Golf Course in San Marcos and Barry Mahlberg of Stadium Golf Center in San Diego, Scott Mallory of the Journey at Petranga in Temecula and Michael Block of Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, Tom Sargent of Mesa Verde Golf Club in Costa Mesa and Chris Gilley of La Quinta Country Club, and Brian Smock and Tim Parun, both of Coronado Municipal Golf Course.
Mike Fergin of Mesa Verde Golf Club and Chi Choi of Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point were seventh at 65, while Jon Fiedler of Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo and Kenny Pigman of Goose Creek Golf Club in Jurupa Valley totaled 66 to tie for eighth with Joe Grohman of Navy Golf Club in Cypress and Kyle Mendoza of South Hills Country Club in West Covina.
Chris Lempa and Allen Merryman of Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego wound up at 67 to tie for 10th with James Ruhland of Balboa Park Golf Course in San Diego and Thomas Chu of Los Coyotes Country Club Buena Park, Ted Parker of Monarch Beach Golf Links and Mark Madson of Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank, Erik Johnson of JC Golf in San Marcos and Jim Hill of Welk Resort in San Diego, and Tyler Pritkin of Coronado Municipal Golf Course and Jerry Crowell of Goose Creek Golf Club.
