Anderson-Pavletich are Stableford champs

Scott Anderson and Mark Pavletich of Bakersfield captured the Southern California Golf Association’s Stableford Team Championship by one point over Jeff Burda of La Quinta and Jim Knoll of Sunnyvale on the Dunes Course at La Quinta Resort and Club.

The SCGA Stableford Team Championship format awards teams points on each hole on their score relative to par. Both players balls are in play, and the two scores on each hole are added together for the final team score on that hole.

Anderson and Pavletich (pictured) had only one point on the first day, but roared back with 11 the next day to claim a 12-11 victory over Burda and Knoll.

Burda and Knoll posted a score of 2-9-11, while Cullen Brasfield of La Quinta and Earl Morley of Palm Desert were third at 3-7-10, followed by John Pate of Santa Barbara and Jeff Wilson of Fairfield at 3-1—4, and Sage Casaga of Murrieta and Cody Hall of Wildomar at minus-2-4—2.

William Erickson of Muroc Lake Golf Club and Fidel Rodriguez of Catalina Golf Course captured the SCGA Stableford Team Net Championship for the second straight year with a score of 67-68—135 on the Dunes Course at La Quinta.

Darryl Gordon of River Ridge Golf Course and Joseph Hall of Desert Falls Golf Association were second at 51-68—119, followed by Joan Chen and Yudo Chen of Aliso Viejo Country Club at 66-51—117, Linda Kueny and Patricia Godfrey of Industry Hills Golf Club at 39-65—104, and Roy Miner of Golf Southern Cal Club and Valerie Robbins of Barona Creek Golf Club at 50-51—101.
