WYNTK:
Many of us remember the original 300 series drivers from TaylorMade in 2000 that set the standard at the time for performance and the new 300 Mini targets those looking for a high MOI, low spin driver they can also from the fairway. At 307cc the new driver is not just an overgrown 3-wood, which typically are around 180cc, but a dual-purpose club…off the tee and off-the-deck.

The titanium face uses TaylorMade’s familiar Twist Face which adds loft to the toe area to counteract act hooks and decreases loft in the heel to straighten out slices. Behind the face is a deep, wide sole slot to help improve ball speeds particularly when impact is low on the face.

To aid shots from the fairway the center of gravity is low in the head and the sole is made of a 54g steel plate in a V-shape to smooth the passage of the head through the turf.

“It’s been 20 years since we last made a metalwood this size. It was only natural to call it the 300 Mini Driver to acknowledge what the 300 Series meant to our brand and the game,” said Tomo Bystedt, Product Creation, Metalwoods. “We blended the throwback look with modern carbon, titanium and steel construction to produce a club the speaks to TaylorMade loyalists while delivering distance from the tee and the fairway.”
