SAN JOSE, CALIF. — After three days of competition Kyle Souza of Vista, Calif. earned the title of 2014 Northern California Open Champion with a final score of 20-under par 196. He won in a playoff by eagling the first playoff hole against Matt Hansen of Los Osos, Calif.
Steven Chung from Sacramento was the low amateur to earn the title of 2014 Northern California Open Amateur Champion with a final score of 9-under par 207. He was in a three-way tie for eighth place overall in a field comprised of amateurs, PGA and Tour Professionals.
David Carr of Teal Bend Golf Club in Sacramento and Jared Becher of Washoe County Golf Course in Reno, Nevada tied for 4th place and were the top PGA Professionals with a final score of 204. This 3-day championship was contested at Almaden Country Club (Par 72) in San Jose, California.
