Jeremy Koons of Roseville and Drew Robbins of Fair Oaks captured the 10th annual Northern California Scramble Championship by one stroke over Joshua Yeater of Marina and Jacob Holmes of Aptos at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach.
All players in the tournament are members of the Northern California Golf Association.
Koons and Robbins posted a score of 63-61—124, 18-under-par, while Yeater and Holmes finished at 61-64—125, with Ray Kong of San Jose and Jason Melvin of Carmel finishing third at 63-63—126.
Bryan Rodriguez of Salinas and Theodore Giapapas of Salinas carded a score of 66-61—127 to tie for fourth with Chase Bird of Atwater and Josh Bennell of Kingsburg, who shot 65-62—127, while John Sarmenta of San Ramon and Tony Guerrero of Livermore were sixth at 64-64—128.
Shane Favinger of Pleasant Hill and John Rauch of Oakland were seventh at 67-62—129, followed by Jonathan Breznikar of Oakland and Gary Wilkerson of Alamo at 64-66—130, and Chris Hyland of San Francisco and Diamuid O Fatharta of Alameda at 69-63—132.
Steven Chapman and Christian Baldree, both of Lincoln, totaled 64-69—133 to tie for 10th with Chase Yoshida of Visalia and Cole Yoshida of Clovis, who also wound up at 64-69—133, and Jude Johnson and Jack Fitch, both of Danville, who finished at 67-66—133.
Edmond Yee and Ken Sigel, both of Redwood City, won the Golden Gate Flight with a score of 64-63—127, 15-under-par, followed by Thomas Sims of Redwood City and Roger Semore of Morgan Hill at 61-67—128.
Gary Glendenning of Manteca and Matthew Stewart of Lodi shot 66-64—130 to tie for third with Anthony Blair of San Francisco and Gregg Blair of Danville, who wound up at 65-65—130, and Samuel Yoon of Hayward and Mickey Mahoney of Carmel Valley, who finished at 64-66—130.
Jonathan Lam of Oakland and Chris Shindler of Truckee posted a score of 66-65—131 to tie for sixth with Chris Gohl of Rocklin and Tim O’Hair of Elk Grove, who finished at 65-66—131, and Scott Wang and Robert Malonso, both of San Jose, who wound up at 67-64—131.
Evan Winiger of Newark and Erik Walter of Mountain View were ninth at 64-68—132, followed by Jacob Ainsworth of Aptos and Brian Cleveland of Morgan Hill at 69-64—133.
Kevin Clancy Campbell and Jay Olenowski of Mountain View claimed the Yosemite Flight with a score of 63-61—124, 18-under-par, followed by Steve Jow of San Jose and Glenn Houston of Yuba City at 61-66—127, and Jack Roy and Christopher Flexen, both of Concord, at 65-65—130.
Albert Pimental of Aptos and Ross Pimental of San Francisco shot 60-72—132 to tie for fourth with Kris Palmer of Lincoln and Patrick Kirk of Rocklin, who wound up at 69-63—132, while Dev Rahal of Fresno and David Hoffman of Sanger totaled 65-69—134 to tie for sixth with Spencer Franceschetti of Escalon and Travis Jackson of Modesto, who finished at 67-67—134.
Daniel McAtee of San Carlos and Malcolm Wilson of Pittsburg wound up eighth at 68-67—135, followed Jerry De La Piedra of San Jose and Greg Harris of Santa Clara at 68-69—137, and Eurik O’Bryant Lodi and Patrick Coon of Woodbridge at 73-67—140.
