San Diego, CA (Jan. 11, 2011) — Anthony Paolucci, a senior at La Jolla Country Day and nationally ranked junior golfer, was among four players given sponsor’s exemptions Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, to be played Jan. 27-30.
Paolucci, 18, joins  former tournament champion and crowd favorite John Daly, Nationwide Tour regular and Coronado player Brian Smock , and Josh Anderson of Murrieta who qualified in December with a bogey free 68 on the demanding South Course at Torrey Pines. Scott McCarron and Lee Janzen were the PGA Tour players not otherwise eligible who received exemptions.
This will be the first PGA Tour appearance for Paolucci, who is the top-ranked
junior in the country and has committed to play for USC in the fall. Smock, 37, also will make his tour debut after competing five of the last six years on the Nationwide. Smock finished 32nd on the money list in 2010
