Hogarth Claims Inaugural Ojai Senior Cup

Tim Hogarth simply added to his impressive career resume.

The 53-year-old Hogarth, from Northridge, closed with a 2-under-par 70 to win the inaugural Ojai Senior Cup by four strokes over Robin Williams of Ojai at Soule Park Golf Course www.soulepark.com in Ojai.

The first round was played at Ojai Valley Inn www.ojairesort.com.

“I’ve worked on a few projects … over the years, and I know how hard it is to get a tournament off the ground, so I wanted to help in any way I could,” said Hogarth, who won the 1996 USGA Public Links Championship, has 18 Southern California Golf Association event titles and nine Los Angeles City Championships among his numerous other amateur title.

Hogarth posted a score of 65-70—135, 7-under-par, while Williams finished at 70-69—139, followed by Robert Graham of Ojai at 73-69—142, while Warren Leary of Valencia shot 75-68—143 to tie for fifth with John Pate of Santa Barbara, who finished at 69-74—143.

Tal Tartaglia of Reedley was seventh at 73-71—144, while Rob Campbell of Newbury Park finished at 70-76—146 to tie for eighth with Kirk Stark of Studio City, who wound up at 70-76—146.

Scott Snowbarger of Ojai posted a score of 76-72—148 to tie for 10th with John Ziegler of Camarillo, who finished at 72-76—148, and Iain Macdonald of Fullerton, who came in at 73-75—148.

Dave Davidson of Rancho Cucamonga captured the Net Division at 65-70—135, followed by Todd Henard of Ojai at 70-69—139, John Dwyer III of Valencia at 70-71—141, Jim Burson of Oxnard at 76-67—143 and Robert Marquez of Azusa at 75-69—144.
