The 33rd PGA Grand Slam of Golf will be played at Trump National Golf Club – Los Angeles on Oct. 19-21, 2015.
The winners of the four major championships each year are eligible to compete in the tournament, which was first played in 1979 at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., where Masters champion Gary Player of South Africa tied for the title with Andy North, the U.S. Open winner.
“The PGA of America begins a new chapter in celebrating the winners of the Masters, U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship through an exciting partnership with the Trump Organization, the owner and operator of a large portfolio of exceptional golf properties,” President Derek Sprague of the PGA of America said.
“The PGA Grand Slam of Golf has always been a showcase for the best in our game. We are pleased that Trump National Golf Club – Los Angeles will provide a great challenge to the game’s finest players.”
The showcase of major champions will be the first event in a multi-year agreement between the PGA of America and the Trump Organization. The 2015 PGA Junior League Golf Championship also will be played at Trump National – Los Angeles on Oct. 17-19.
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf will return to the U.S. mainland for the first time since 1993, when Greg Norman of Australia claimed the title on the Jack Nicklaus Resort Course at PGA West in La Quinta.
The elite four-player tournament has been played in Bermuda since 2008, with U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer of Germany beating Bubba Watson in a playoff last year at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton.
Tiger Woods has won the event a record five times, with Norman next at three, while Ernie Els of South Africa, Jim Furyk and North all have won it twice.
Other winners include Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott of Australia, Ian Woosnam of Wales, Nick Price of Zimbabwe, Curtis Strange, Padraig Harrington of Ireland, Lee Trevino, Ben Crenshaw and Lanny Wadkins.
