The Golf Championships’ Million-Dollar Invitational, which allows the everyday golfer the opportunity to experience high-stakes golf, named its four qualifying sites for next year’s $10 million global golf tournament series that will air on CBS.
The qualifying school process begins January 27-28, at Bella Collina in Montverde, FL, before moving west to Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena, CA, March 7-8.
The following weekend, March 12-13, Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, AZ, welcomes qualifiers, before the qualifying school series wraps up March 18-19 at Indian Creek Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas.
The Million Dollar Invitational is open to any and all players not currently holding a card on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, the European Tour or the LPGA. Each qualifying event is 36 holes, stroke-play, with the top 144 players advancing into all of the Million Dollar Invitational events —54-hole, stroke-play tournaments that all feature a $300,000 purse. From there, 10 finalists — the nine best scores plus one sponsor’s exemption — will compete in a nine-hole shootout for “winner-take-all” prize of $1 million. The Million Dollar Invitational shootout series will be televised monthly on CBS, starting in May 2013.
The entry fee for each Qualifying event is $2,500 and players can enter multiple events by paying multiple entry fees. Registration is now open and entry forms are available to download online by going to thegolfchampionships.com.
