For the new Elyte family irons Callaway took the same approach as with the drivers of the line, namely creating a series of similar models with variations targeted at specific skill levels of players.
The Elyte standard model is for recreational players having average to fast swing speeds looking for a mid-launch, low spin iron. Elyte HL (High Launch) is best suited for golfers with slower to average swing speed and who can probably benefit from higher launch and mid-level spin.
Elyte X is a larger profile cavity-back for added forgiveness plus makes use of increased offset and a wider sole giving a high launch low spin for average to fast swing speeds. Elyte Max Fast is designed for slower swinging players, and they produce a high launch higher spin shot. Construction components such as shaft and grip are lightweight to facilitate more swing speed.
Callaway is also saying their new Ai10x Face delivers 10 times more control points than the Ai Smart Face of last year which will help with both spin and direction when impact isn’t exactly in the center of the face.
Elyte’s hollow Speed Frame construction was first seen in the 2023 Paradym irons and helps produce more ball speed with significant amount of vibration dampening from the urethane microspheres packed into the interior.
We think everyone will like the all-new tri-sole design with three separate and distinct sections to improve turf interaction. The leading edge is sharper for smooth entry into the turf and the trailing edge has a chamfer that allows for easier exit while the mid-section aids forgiveness by restricting the amount the iron can dig in. Soles with three different grind angles are often seen on better-player irons and it’s well-known tour players grind the leading edge of their wedges and short irons to get the sole through the turf more efficiently
