Norman Xiong of Oregon shot 4-under-par 67 in the final round to win the Nike Collegiate Golf Invite by one stroke over Brandon Wu of Stanford and Justin Suh of USC on the Witch Hollow Course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore.
Xiong (pictured), a sophomore from Canyon Lake, Calif., earned his second victory of the season and the third in his career with the Ducks by posting a total score of 65-68-67—200, 13-under.
In the last few months, Xiong won the Western Amateur, helped the United States captured the Walker Cup at Los Angeles Country Club and opened the college season by winning the Rod Myers Invitational.
Wu, a sophomore from Danville, totaled 65-66-70—201, and Suh, a junior from San Jose, wound up at 67-71-63—201.
Will Gordon of Vanderbilt was fourth at 67-69-66—202, while Carl Yuan of Washington shot 68-66-70—204 to tie for fifth with Doc Redman of Clemson, who finished at 67-69-68—204.
Isaiah Salinda of Stanford, a junior from South San Francisco, carded a score of 66-69-70—205 to tie for seventh with Brad Dalke (68-69-68—205) and Blaine Hale, both of team champion Oklahoma.
The defending national champion Sooners took home the team title with a score of 272-
277-276—825, 27-under, followed by Stanford at 274-273-281—828, Vanderbilt at 276-281-277—834, Clemson at 281-281-275—837 and Florida at 278-277-286—841.
USC finished at 277-290-275—842 to tie for sixth with Wake Forest, which wound up at 280-279-283—842.
