Woods lands strong field for World Challenge

Tournament host Tiger Woods landed 10 of the top 15 players in the World Golf Rankings for his Hero World Challenge on Dec. 4-7 at Isleworth Country Club in Orlando, Fla.

The tournament has moved from Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, where it was played from 2000-2013.

“We are thrilled about the depth and talent of our field,” Woods, who will be coming off a long layoff because of a back injury, said in a release.

“I’m looking forward to another exciting year of competition at Isleworth, a course I love.”

Woods lived at Isleworth for several years and competed there in the Tavistock Cup.

Henrik Stenson of Sweden, Jim Furyk, Justin Rose of England, Bubba Watson, Jason Day of Australia, Matt Kuchar and Rickie Fowler, all in the top 10 in the world rankings, are in the field.

Others in the 18-man field include Woods, defending champion Zach Johnson, FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel, Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland, Jimmy Walker, Hideki Matsuyama of Japan, Hunter Mahan, Chris Kirk, Steve Stricker and Keegan Bradley.
