Only a few years ago, Anthony Kim was considered the best young American golfer, who might some day assume Tiger Woods’ throne.
Kim, who grew up on the mean streets of Los Angeles and played college at Oklahoma, won three times on the PGA Tour and was one of the stars when the United States beat Europe in the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla in Louisville.
After struggling with hand, wrist and achilles tendon injuries, Kim has not played on the PGA Tour since 2012 and virtually dropped off the face of the golf world. The question is, will he ever play again on the circuit.
Now 28, the graduate of La Quinta High in the Coachella Valley was spotted recently in at nightclub at Cesars Palace in Las Vegas with professional poker players Rick Salmon and Jean-Robert Bellande.
At one time, Kim said his goal was to return to the PGA Tour, but Sports Illustrated reported last year that he has a $20-million insurance policy related to career-ending injuries that he can live off for the rest of his life.
