John Deere Classic, Moore, seeking to use something face-balanced, had a new putter in the bag from Odyssey. The mallet Moore wielded was the company’s White Hot RX V-Line Fang—a putter that took many of the company’s hallmark technologies and pulled them all into one putter. The White Hot insert has been a cornerstone of Odyssey putters for nearly 15 years but with the RX the company added its oval pattern on the face and added a textured clear coat to the surface that works with the ovals to increase friction to produce a better roll. With the V-Line Fang, the shape is similar to Odyssey’s popular #7 model (with “fangs”) while adding the V-Line alignment system. Moore putted well with the new club (which was 34 inches in length and had 2.5 degrees of loft) in his win at the Deere, ranking eighth in strokes gained/putting.
