USC’s Suh gets fourth win of season in Vegas

Justin Suh of USC claimed his fourth victory of the season as the Trojans tied for second behind Florida in the Southern Highlands Collegiate at Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas.

Suh, a junior from San Jose who is top-ranked in Golfweek’s College Rankings, collected the fifth victory of his college career and moved to No. 2 in the World Amateur Rankings.

An eagle on the 14th hole proved to be the difference as Suh posted a score of 68-70-70—208, to win by two strokes over Harry Hall of UNLV, who finished at 69-72-69—210.

And he was playing sick, coming down with a fever before the tournament.

“It all kind of goes away once the tournament starts,” said Suh, who had a 15-minute session with team psychologist Kevin Sverduk right before the first round. “Once the tournament starts, all that matters is the shot in front of you. That’s what I did for the whole tournament.”
