Stanford’s Dobashi Will Assist at Palmer Cup

Associate head coach Lauren Dobashi of Stanford has been selected as an assistant coach for the United States team for the Arnold Palmer Cup on June 7-9, 2019, at The Alotian Club in Roland, Ark.

Corey Maggard of Auburn and Dobashi will assist head coach Mic Potter of Alabama against an International Team in a three-day competition among 24 women and men college golfers.

Dobashi, in her sixth season on Coach Anne Walker’s staff at Stanford, helped the Cardinal win the 2015 NCAA Women’s Championship, and reach the NCAA match play finals in 2016, and the semifinals in 2017 and 2018.

Stanford also has captured three consecutive NCAA Regional titles, collected 16 full-field victories and produced 14 All-Americans.

Dobashi was selected 2017-18 Assistant Coach of the Year by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association’s Assistant Coach of the Year.

A 2010 graduate of UC Davis, Dobashi was a three-time recipient of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award, presented to the student-athlete with outstanding academics, athletic achievement and community involvement. She qualified for two U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships.

Dobashi, a native of Gold River, Calif., was a four-year letter-winner at UC Davis, playing her last two seasons for Walker, who served as the Aggies’ head coach for four seasons.
