Jonathan Shaw of Claremont Mudd Scripps captured the individual title and Chapman University of Orange won the team championship in the CA State Intercollegiate at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.
Shaw (pictured), a senior from Mill Valley, posted a score of 67-66—133, 11-under-par, while Nick Norton of Arizona Christian was second at 70-67—137, followed by Michael Padilla of Marymount University at 69-69—138 and Avery Keating of Chapman at 70-70—140.
Grant Calender of Arizona Christian shot 72-69—141 to tie for fifth with Samuel Eisenhuth of the Master’s University, who finished at 74-67—141, while Adam Harlin of
Marymount totaled 73-69—142 to tie for seventh with Alex Plusquellec of George Fox University, who wound up at 71-71—142, Drake Jones of Cal Lutheran, who was at 71-71—141, and Tyler Ferrier, also of Cal Lutheran, who came in at 71-71—142.
Conor Rooney led Pomona Pitzer at 75-68—143 in a tie for 11th that included Brody Hval of Chapman at 72-71—143, Tyler Hoefferle of Whittier at 76-67—143, Dallas Haun of Chapman at 71-72—143, and Slater Sivage of Cal Lutheran at 72-71—143.
Dylan Jirsa led Occidental at 74-71—145 in a tie for 18th and Conner Davis of LaVerne tied for 22nd at 73-73—146.
Chapman carded a score of 285-285—570, followed by host Cal Lutheran at 286-286—572, Arizona Christian at 290-284—574 and Claremont Mudd Scripps at 288-290—578.
Marymount totaled 293-286—579 to tie for fifth with the Master’s, which finished at 296-283—579, while George Fox was seventh at 291-290—581, followed by La Verne at 297-286—583 and Whittier at 296-290—586.
Occidental College shot 299-288—587 to tie for 10th with Pomona-Pitzer, which wound up at 303-284—587.
