Ping has announced two iron models targeted for better players, the Blueprint S players distance iron and the Blueprint T blade iron.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of the new Blueprint S distance iron is the forged pocket in the 3 through 5 lofts which adds a forgiveness factor, something even the best players can use. Make no mistake, the Blueprint S model is not an iron meant for those middle handicaps looking to improve their iron game. They are narrow soled with minimal offset so only the best ball strikers should have them in the bag.
The compact blade design of the Blueprint T irons contributes to the difference in performance with the Blueprint S with the T being less forgiving and having lower ball spin and flatter trajectory.
Note that the stock lofts for both are the same so sets made up of the two can easily be done such as a set of Blueprint S long irons and Blueprint T mid and short irons.
