Ping’s redesign of the badge on the rear of the i240s using chrome-plated ABS and a carbon fiber inlay meant they gained 8.5 grams which were relocated to lower the center of gravity for higher launch and more forgiveness.

Making the point John K. Solheim, CEO and President said in the press release announcing them, “The new i240 irons are engineered to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. They provide precision and control with a great feel, so they technically fit into the ‘players iron’ category. But they also offer the MOI and higher launch of a game-improvement iron. We’ve designed it with more of a true cavity-back look to inform golfers of its forgiveness properties.”

To help inducing more spin especially from the fairway the i240s have fewer and wider grooves and for less turf interaction the sole has a rounded leading edge as did the previous i230s.

In addition to the stock loft they are available in a Power Spec and Retro Spec lofts.
