Darren Pang of Milpitas captured the AmateurGolf.com Pacific Grove City Championship by four strokes over Nathan Wang of Fremont at Pacific Grove Golf Links.
Pang, who will be a freshman at Columbia University in the fall following a gap year, carded a score of 67-69—136, 4-under-par, while Wang finished at 68-72—140, followed by JJ West of Pacific Grove at 69-74—143 and Leland Tsai of Castro Valley at 73-72—145.
“This place can be frustrating if you aren’t careful,” Pang said. “It looks like such an easy course on the scorecard, but once you get out here in the wind and you see the greens and the pin positions, it can get a little challenging.”

Jayden Lizama of El Grove shot 76-70—146 to tie for sixth with Jerry Ledzinski II of Carmel, who totaled 74-72—146, Ishdeep Sodhi of Folson, who finished at 73-73—146, and Michael Carrillo of Chualar, who wound up at 70-76—146.
Ryan Sear of Washoe Valley, Nev., finished ninth at 75-72—147, while Jacob Goode of San Francisco carded a score of 75-73—148 to tie for 10th with Travis Rowney of Livermore, who finished at 74-74—148, and Charlie Farrell of San Francisco, who came in at 70-78—148.
Greg Galasso of San Jose made a par on the second playoff hole to beat Russell Humphrey of Lodi for the Senior Division title.
Galasso finished regulation play at 74-68—142, while Humphrey wound up at 73-69—142, while Jeff Foster of Modesto shot 76-68—144 to tie for third with Daniel O’Connor of San Francisco, who finished at 70-74—144, and Jeff Weiss of Roseville, who totaled 71-73—144.
