Maverick McNealy of Stanford leads the Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings for United States team that will face Europe on June 24-26 at Formby Golf Club in Liverpool, England.
McNealy, a junior from Portola Valley, claimed or shared medalist honors in three tournaments during the Fall Season and has nine titles in his career–two behind the Cardinal record set by Tiger Woods and tied by Patrick Rodgers.
The top six college golfers in the rankings from the United States and Europe at the end of the season will qualify for the Palmer Cup, with four others to be selected to complete the 10-player teams.
Senior Michael Johnson of Auburn is second in the U.S. rankings, followed by junior Beau Hossler of Texas and Mission Viejo, sophomore Tyler McDaniel of Kentucky, senior Charlie Danielson of Illinois and junior Robby Shelton of Alabama.
Also in the top 25 are No. 14 Rico Hoey, a junior at USC from Rancho Cucamonga, and No. 22 Jonathan Garrick, a senior at UCLA from Atherton.
Jon Rahm of Arizona State and Spain leads the European rankings, followed by senior Antoine Rozner of Missouri-Kansas City and France, junior Lars van Miejel of Memphis and the Netherlands, junior Mattias Schwab of Vanderbilt and Austria, senior Thomas Perrot of Memphis and France, and senior Franck Medale of Jacksonville and France.
Others include senior Riccardo Michelini of San Diego State and Italy at No. 13, senior David Boote of Stanford and Wales at No. 17 and Sebastian Crookall-Nixon of San Francisco and England at No. 24.
The U.S. leads the series, 10-8-1, including an 18-12 victory earlier this year at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
