The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks has teamed with GolfNow of Orlando, Fla., which will give L.A.’s 12 golf courses industry leading technology and services, as well as access to the world’s largest tee-time marketplace.
The new partnership builds on an agreement Los Angeles established with EZLinks Golf, now a GolfNow company, which was signed in 2018.
“The City of Los Angeles operates a large and envious portfolio of golf properties that enjoy a loyal following,” said Laura Bauernfeind, Golf Manager for the L.A. Department of Recreation and Parks.
“The opportunity with GolfNow to showcase our tee times within the world’s largest online marketplace, coupled with the major steps we’ve been able to take by utilizing EZLinks’ integrated technology platform, will be a big win-win for our golf course properties and golfers, alike.”
GolfNow will power operations at the city’s seven 18-hole courses; three 9-hole courses and two Par-3 courses.
Los Angeles golf courses were shut down for about two months because of the Coronavirus pandemic, but reopened on May 9.
In addition to taking advantage of GolfNow’s online tee-time marketplace, Los Angeles courses will be able to utilize the company’s marketing support, including social media and e-mail marketing, as well as website design and management, and call center assistance.
The City of Los Angeles 18-hole golf courses include the Harding and Wilson Golf Course (dual clubhouse pictured) in Griffith Park, Rancho Park Golf Course, Encino Golf Course and Balboa Golf Course at the Sepulveda Golf Complex in Encino, Hansen Dam Golf Course in Pacoima and Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Van Nuys.
The 9-hole executive courses are Harbor Park Golf Course in Wilmington, Roosevelt Golf Course in Los Angeles and Penmar Golf Course in Venice, and the par-3 courses are Rancho Park Par-3 Golf Course and Los Feliz Par-3 Golf Course in Los Angeles.
