Adding to their lineup of zero torque putters PXG has introduced the sixth model tagged Hot Rod ZT, a modern style aluminum headed mallet with what now is the familiar PXG solution for weighting the head, four tungsten sole weights. These give Hot Rod a broad range of configurations to fit most any user preference.

It’s center shafted like two of the earlier models, so the shaft enters the head above the center of gravity. This is a good way to increase the heads’ resistance to twisting at impact which means more stability and is the essence of the zero-torque idea, keeping the face square to the arc throughout the putter stroke.

Note there is an onset hosel, something some may not be familiar with, but simply means the shaft-hosel line is behind the face not ahead which it is when offset. The center of gravity is therefore closer to the face and impact is more precise while assisting the face being square at impact.

“Every detail of Hot Rod ZT was shaped around confidence, both visually and through impact,” said Matt Andrews, PXG Design Engineer. “From the way the mallet frames the ball to the sound and feel off the face, we focused on creating a putter that looks stable, feels stable, and performs exactly the way players expect when it matters most.”
