Finau signs with Wasserman Group

LOS ANGELES — Wasserman Media Group, the global sports marketing and management company, announced today that PGA TOUR rookie Tony Finau has signed with the agency for exclusive representation in all areas. Finau will be managed by agent Christopher Armstrong, a Senior Vice President with Wasserman’s Golf Division.

Finau is the first golfer of Tongan/American Samoan descent to hold a PGA TOUR card and currently ranks 14th in the FedEx Cup rankings. He opened the 2014/15 PGA TOUR season finishing tied for seventh at both the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, as well as capturing a tie for 12th at the Frys.com Open.

Known for his prodigious length off the tee, Finau made the jump to the PGA TOUR after an outstanding season on the Web.com Tour which was highlighted by a victory at the 2014 Stonebrae Classic. One of the most consistent performers on Tour, Finau finished in the Top 25 in nearly 75% of events in which he made the cut, including an impressive run of four Top-5 finishes in eight straight starts.

Finau turned professional at just 17 years of age when he competed in the Ultimate Game, an individual match-play competition in Las Vegas. The 25-year old husband and proud father of two currently lives with his wife and family in his native Salt Lake City. He is also the cousin of NBA rookie, and fellow Wasserman client, Jabari Parker of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Finau is set to open the 2015 calendar this week at the Sony Open, January 15-18 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
