De Los Santos, UC Irvine win Big West titles

Justin De Los Santos of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo captured the individual title and UC Irvine won the Big West Conference Championship by one stroke over UC Davis at San Luis Obispo Country Club.

De Los Santos, a sophomore from Chatsworth, carded a score of 70-73-69–212 to win by one stroke over Pete Fernandez of UC Irvine, who finished at 73-68-72–213.

Matt Seramin of UC Davis shot 74-70-70–214 to tie for third with Jacob Schulze of UC Irvine, who wound up at 71-75-68–214, with Mike Brockington of UC Davis finishing fifth at 68-75-72–215.

J.J. Holen of Long Beach State posted a score of 77-72-67–216 to tie for sixth with Brandon Bauman of UC Santa Barbara, who totaled 73-75-69–216, and Sam Gillis of UC Riverside, who came in at 74-71-71–216.

Davis Gazzolo of UC Riverside was ninth at 67-74-76–217, while Daniel Chian of Long Beach State shot 74-71-73–218 to tie for 10th with Matt Lutz of UC Riverside, who finished at 72-73-73–218.

Ryan Tetrault led Cal State Fullerton in a tie for 20th at 76-72-74–222, while Michael O’Connor of Cal State Northridge tied for 24th at 76-76-72–224.

UC Irvine carded a winning score of 289-286-285–860, followed by UC Davis at 288-285-288–861 and UC Riverside at 286-289-296–871.

Long Beach State finished at 298-289-288–875 to tie for fourth with UC Santa Barbara, which totaled 302-288-285–875, while Cal Poly SLO was sixth at 289-296-291–876, followed by Cal State Northridge at 298-301-300–899, Cal State Fullerton at 300-296-305–901 and Hawaii at 316-307-299–922.
