California Highway Patrol officers arrested a 19-year-old man who was driving a golf cart, which was stolen at the Rose Bowl, on the 210 Freeway in Pasadena.
Andrew Aldridge of Dana Point, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and booked without incident at the Pasadena Police Department.
“He took the cart and was trying to get to his car on the other side of Pasadena,” CHP Sgt. Mike Munoz told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s definitely chalked up as one of the new experiences for a lot of people here.”
Aldridge was spotted in the golf cart in the outside lane of the freeway near Lake Avenue at about 10:10 p.m. CHP officers trailed him off the freeway at the North Hill Avenue and arrested him soon after on Corson Street.
When he was arrested at about 10:45, Aldridge was driving with the vehicle’s lights off and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
The Rose Bowl is located adjacent to Brookside Golf Course.
