Matthew Broder of San Diego claimed the Boys’ 15-18 Division by one stroke over Jack Tanner of South Australia in the 10th annual World Stars of Junior Golf Championship on the Sun Mountain Course at Paiute Golf Club in Las Vegas.
The tournament is sponsored by the International Junior Golf Academy.
The 13-year-old Broder (pictured right) recorded a score of 75-71-76—222, while Tanner finished at 75-76-72—223, and Jin Song of Irvine was third at 72-78-74—224 followed by Sam Harrison of Australia at 77-70-79—226.
Nicolas Harrison of La Mirada shot 76-76-75—227 to tie for fifth with Dakota Gillman of Lake Mojave, Ariz., who also finished at 76-76-75—227, and Johnny Wright of Orlando, Fla., who wound up at 78-78-71—227.
Ben Scott of Australia was eighth at 76-78-76—230, while Rashon Williams of Las Vegas totaled 82-77-73—232 to tie for ninth with Douglas Derichebourg of Kingwood, Texas, who came in at 81-78-73—232.
Joseph Sotelo of Rancho Cordova shot 70-75-72—271 to tie for the Boys’ 13-14 Division with Chase Goetschel of Trabuco Canyon, who finished at 71-71-75—217, and Colton Cherry of Las Vegas, who wound 73-77-67—217.
Ryan Voois of Ladera Ranch was fourth at 74-72-72—218, followed by Mason Snyder of Las Vegas at 73-76-70—219 and Alex Heard of Boca Raton, Fla., at 70-80-70—220.
Nonnatee Sangsuriyaporn of Thailand totaled 74-79-69—222 to tie for eighth with Kevin Rodriguez of Mexico, who finished at 76-72-74—222, while Cachorro Astiazaran of Tucson, Ariz., was ninth at 78-75-70—223, followed by Jack Kantowski of Boca Raton, Fla., at 74-80-74—228.
