Cody Blick of Danville and San Jose State posted a score of 67-69–136, 8-under-par, to lead qualifying for the 115th United States Amateur Championship at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside.
California Amateur champion Shotaro Ban of San Jose and Cal shot 69-67–136, 8-under, at Turlock Golf and Country Club and tied with Michael Tolladay of Fresno, who wound up at 70-66–136, and Kenta Konishi of Tokyo, who came in at 65-71–136.
Robert Salomon of Marina shot 70-68–138 and Christopher Petefish of Danville claimed the third and final spot available at the site with a score of 71-68–139.
Ryann Ree of Redondo Beach and San Diego State carded a score of 70-63–133, 9-under to lead qualifying at San Diego Country Club. Ree started his second round with a fury by making birdie on ten of his first twelve holes. Kyle Suppa of Honolulu shot 70-69–139 and Brett Coletta of Melbourne, Australia, totaled 69-70–139 to earn the other two spots.
Bryan Shin of Irvine led qualifying at Mission Viejo Country Club at 70-73–143, 1-over, while Jordan Gold of Orange, who finished at 72-73–145, and Devin Hua of Guam, who totaled, 75-70–145, also qualified.
Connor Campbell of Orange carded a score of 68-72–140, 4-under, to lead qualifying at TPC Valencia in Santa Clarita, while Jonah Texeira of Porter Ranch shot 72-70–142 and tied for second with Tyler Collier of Chico, who also totaled 72-70–142.
The U.S. Amateur Championship will be played Aug. 17-23 at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill.
