Jonas Appel of Encinitas and Caden Fioroni of San Diego led local qualifying for the 2020 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship by shooting 10-under-par 62 on the South Course at the Golf Club at Terra Lago in Indio.
The championship will be played next May 23-27 at Philadelphia Cricket Club in Philadelphia, Pa.
Also qualifying at Terra Lago were Jonas Miklas of Truckee and Dustin Hall of Sparks, Nev., with a score of 64.
At Valencia Country Club in Santa Clarita, Ryan Dwight of Rancho Mission Viejo and Corby Segal of Santa Clarita led qualifying at 9-under 63, followed by Andy Alvarez of West Covina and James Bragger of Duarte at 65.
At Vista Valley Country Club in Vista, Jeff Koprivetz and Pete Williams of San Diego totaled 6-under 65 to tie for qualifying honors with Christian Guynn and Jake Tilley of Oceanside,
Jason and Ryan Higton of Fresno led qualifying at Turlock Golf and Country Club at 9-under-par 63, while Ryan Perkins of Fresno and Keith Rodriguez of San Francisco were second at 64.
