Block, Pigman claim SCPGA Four-Ball title

Kenny Pigman of Goose Creek Golf Club in Mira Loma and Michael Block of Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo captured the 2016 Southern California PGA Four-Ball Championship by two strokes at Valencia Country Club.

Pigman (pictured right), the 2016 PGA Club Professional champion and Player of the Year, and Block, who captured the 2014 PGA National Championship and the 2001 California State Open, posted a bogey-free score of 7-under-par and shared $1,300.

Brian Smock and Tyler Pritkin, both of Coronado Municipal Golf Course, shot 67 to tie for second with Andrew Larkin, assistant golf coach at UCLA, and Steve Holmes of Westlake Golf Course in Westlake Village.

Kirk Karasawa and Todd Yoshitake of Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades totaled 68 to tie for fourth with Paul Dietsche of Redlands Country Club and Brad Stormon of the Golf Club at Rancho California in Murrietta, and Joe Grohman and Anthony Kim of Navy Golf Club in Cypress.

Robert Pang and Matt Parkovich of Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach carded a score of 67 to tie for seventh with Eric Evans of Royal Vista Golf Club in Walnut and Mark Fernando of Coronado Municipal Golf Course, Michael Jack and Kyle Mendoza of South Hills Country Club in West Covina and Joshua Young of Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo and Alan Sorensen of Buena Vista Golf Course in Taft.
