LAGUNA BEACH, CALIF. (February 10, 2011) – Aliso Creek Inn & Golf Course is pleased to announce the reopening of its storied nine-hole golf course on Sunday, February 20, 2011. All golf proceeds on that day will be donated to The Laguna Relief and Resource Center.
In late December 2010, the massive rains and floods that ravaged Laguna Beach caused most of the golf course at Aliso Creek Inn to fill with several feet of mud and sediment, damaging the course. During this time, golf course superintendent, Greg Jones and his team immediately went to work clearing the debris, re-building bunkers, replanting trees, and reseeding the entire course. “It was heartbreaking to see the damage, but we are excited to reveal the progress we have made to the course. The restored course is incredible with pristine greens and immaculate tee boxes!” said Greg.
Thanks to the warmer weather and dedication by the team, the course is set to re-open on Sunday, February 20, 2011. The re-opening day revenues will be dedicated to the Laguna Relief and Resource Center, an organization dedicated to helping Laguna Beach residents and businesses rebound after natural disasters like the one that flooded the city in December. “Yes, the rain and floods caused extreme devastation to our course”, says Kurt Bjorkman, General Manager of Aliso Creek Inn, “However, while it hurt our business, it does not compare to the impact that the storm has had on many of our Laguna Beach neighbors. We have an opportunity through The Laguna Relief and Resource Center to help our community and make a difference”.
100% of the proceeds from golf revenue on Sunday, February 20, 2011 will be donated to Laguna Relief and Resource Center.
