Wong, UC Davis win Big West titles

Andrea Wong of UC Davis captured the individual title and the Aggies put four players in the top five while coasting their sixth consecutive Big West Conference Women’s Championship at El Macero Country Club near Sacramento.

The Aggies posted a score of 288-281-289–858, six-under-par, with Hawaii a distant second at 291-290-306–887.

“I think the improvement we’re seeing every week is awesome and I think going into NCAA regionals, this is a good place to start,” said coach Anna Temple of UC Davis, who was selected Big West Coach of the Year.

“We still have a lot of work but I think it’s great for the team to see their hard work in some specific areas is paying off.”

Long Beach State totaled 304-301-301–906 and tied for third with UC Riverside, which wound up at 299-301-306–906.
