Wise wins SCPGA Women’s title by 7 shots

Lehua Wise of Hideaway Golf Club in La Quinta posted a score of 68-74-142, 2-under-par and coasted to a seven-stroke victory over defending champion Alison Curdt of Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, which was host course of the Southern California PGA Women’s Section Championship.

Wise, who also claimed the title in 2011, overcame winds of more than 20 mph on the second day to collect the winner’s purse of $1,100.

Curdt finished second at 73-76–149, followed by Erika Ilagan of Sea Cliff Country Club in Huntington Beach at 75-79–154, Petra Cole of Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla at 74-83–157 and Danielle O’Keefe of Rancho Maria Golf Club in Santa Maria at 82-78–160.

Bari Brandwynne of Los Angeles Country Club was sixth at 80-82–162, followed by Laura Luethke of Marrakesh Country Club in Palm Desert at 76-87–163, Yumi Chung of Calabasas Golf and Country Club at 87-82–159, Junko Suziki of the SCPGA staff at 80-90–170, and Reina Rogers of River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard at 82-89–171.
