Lilia Vu of UCLA captured the second individual title of her college career by seven strokes and led the Bruins to victory in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on the Bay Course at Kapalua Resort in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
Vu, a sophomore from Fountain Valley who won the Bruin Wave Invitational in February, posted a score of 67-66-71–204, 12-under-par, while Monica Vaughn of Arizona State was second at 71-72-68–211, followed by My Leander of San Jose State at 72-70-70–212 and Mariel Galdiano of UCLA at 75-71-67–213.
Olivia Mehaffey of Arizona State shot 72-70-73–215 to tie for sixth with Sun Devil teammate Linnea Strom, who totaled 77-65-74–216, Paige Lee of UC Davis, who finished at 73-73-70–216, and Erin Choi of UCLA, who wound up at 75-71-70–216.
Esther Lee of Colorado was ninth at 71-73-73–217, while Casey Danielson of Stanford recorded a score of 73-73-72–218 to tie for 10th with Abegail Arevalo of San Jose State, who came in at 72-73-73–218.
Mimi Ho led Fresno State in a tie for 16th at 73-73-76–222 and Kristin Le of Santa Clara tied for 22nd at 74-75-75–224.
Rounding out the scoring for the champion Bruins were Bethany Wu in a tie for 12th at 74-73-72–219, Clare Legaspi in a tie for 25th at 75-75-75–225, Joo Seo in a tie for 37th at 78-75-77–230, Lydia Choi in a tie for 44th at 79-76-77–232 and Hadas Libman in a tie for 53rd at 76-79-80–235.
Seventh-ranked UCLA claimed its third title of the season with a score of 291-281-280–852, 12-under, to win by 17 shots over Arizona State, which totaled 297-283-289–869.
San Jose State was third at 293-292-292–877, followed by Colorado at 293-297-294–884, Stanford at 299-292-296–887 and Fresno State at 300-303-300–903.
UC Davis shot 307-302-298–907 to tie for seventh with Gonzaga, which finished at 304-311-292–907, while UC Davis was ninth at 307-302-298–907, followed at Santa Clara at 303-310-299–912.
