Ujihara Claims SCGA Super Senior Title by 2

David Ujihara of Brea won while playing with the older guys for the first time, capturing the 20th Southern California Golf Association Super Senior Championship by two strokes over Jeff Burda of La Quinta at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa http://www.ojainvalleyinn.com/golf.

Ujihara, who captured the 2014 SCGA Senior Championship, posted a score of 67-71—138, 2-under-par, while Burda wound up at 68-72—140.

Patrick Rohan of San Diego, the 2015 SCGA Senior champion, shot 75-69—144 to tie for third with Brad Larsen of Oceanside, who finished at 74-70—144, and Donald Kalode, also of Oceanside, who totaled 72-72—144.

Rich Tolly of Laguna Hills posted a score of 75-70—145 to tie for fifth with Rick Talt of Laguna Beach, who wound up at 72-73—145, while Mel Collins Jr. of Long Beach shot 76-71—147 to tie for eighth with Donald Baker of Woodland Hills, who finished at 73-74—147.

David Richardson carded a score of 71-77—148 to tie for 10th with John Given of Santa Monica, who totaled 74-74—148, Pat Rauber of Eugene, Ore., who finished at 72-76—148, and Stephen Friend of Torrance, who came in at 73-75—148.

Kemp Richardson of Laguna Niguel, who won the tournament in 2016 and 2017, tied for 26th at 79-74—153, while Rob Thompson of Merced, the 2013 champion, totaled 72-86—158 to finish in a tie for 41st that included Ray Vanyo of Banning, the 2012 winner who totaled 80-78—158, and Ken Knott of Los Angeles, the 2014 champion, tied for 46 th at 78-81—159.
