TaylorMade research showed most game-improvement irons have more flex towards the toe which give them a distance and accuracy robbing fade bias. The answer of course was to construct the faces of the Qi Max and Qi Max HL to have the same flex across the width of the face to reduce cut spin.
After surveying 11,000 golfers it was also found they would like a forgiving high-performance iron with great feel so the clubfaces of the Qi Max and Qi Max HL were tweaked for a more solid sound, an important part of an iron’s feel.
