Suh-Wise-Brown-Marchewka Claim SCPGA Kick-Off Classic by One Stroke

The team of Jae Suh of the Golf Development Complex, Paul Wise of Hillcrest Country Club, Don Brown of Victoria Golf Club and Paul Marchewka, a retired PGA Life Member, captured the Southern California PGA’s Senior Division Stroke Play Kick-Off Classic by one stroke at The Victoria Club in Riverside.

Suh, Wise, Brown and Marchewka recorded a two-player best-ball total of 116, while Mike Fergin of Mesa Verde Country Club, Jeff Cross of The Victoria Club, Nick Molloy of Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake and David Foster of San Juan Capistrano finished one shot back with a total of 117.

The winning team shared $1,200, while the runner-up squad split $1,000.

Jeff Hart, an active PGA Life Member, Mark Fernando of the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo, Davey Snyder of The Classic Club and Tim Wischmeyer of Stadium Golf Center posted a score of 119 to tie for third with Chris Starkjohann of Starkjohann Golf Academy, Brad Stormon of The Golf Club at Rancho California, Fred Wood of Oceanside Golf Club and Allen Merryman of Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Steve Holmes of Rustic Canyon Golf Course, Mark Fernando of The Golf Course at Rancho Bernardo, Sean Anthony of Laguna Woods Golf Club and Randy Chang of The Journey at Pechanga finished fifth at 120, followed by Chris Harvey of Olivas Links, Trevor Baker of Virginia Country Club, Tom Sargent of Mesa Verde Country Club and Brad Booth of Costa Mesa Country Club at 121.

Jeremy Clevenger of the Santa Luz Club, Don Brand of Brand Golf X, Andy Thuney of Hacienda Golf Club and Glenn Alexakis of the Riviera Country Club totaled 125 to tie for seventh with Jon Fiedler of Las Posas Country Club, Robert Deruntz of RMD GIR Golf Academy, Andy Gaither of Black Gold Golf Course and Carl Van Vallier of Olivas Links, and Gary Sowinski of the Hodges Golf Learning Center, Bob Knee of Aviara Golf Academy, PGA Life Member Jorge Babel and Robert Stevens of Riverview Golf Course.

Paul Dietsche of Redlands Country Club, Jason Larimore of Buenaventura Golf Course, retired Life Member Jim Petralia and John McFarland of Bridgestone Golf carded a score of 126 to tie for 10th with Ross Fisher of Goose Creek Golf Club, Scott McCue of The Farms Golf Club, John Walker of Aviara Golf Club and Gene Shouler of Bella Collina Town and Golf.
