Rachel Heck and Angelina Ye of Stanford finished 1-2 in the individual standings and led the Cardinal to a whopping 30-stroke victory over Wake Forest in the NCAA Women’s West Regional Championship at Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto.
Stanford, coached by Anne Walker, posted a school-record score of 272-271-281—824, 28-under-par, while Wake Forest was second at 286-280-288—854, followed by Oklahoma State at 287-282-286—855, Virginia Tech at 282-283-291—856, Arizona at 289-289-279—857 and USC at 288-283-289—860.

The top six teams advanced to NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., from May 21-26.
Florida was seventh at 290-287-284—861, followed by Pepperdine at 304-278-290—872 and San Jose State at 297-291-287—875, while Denver totaled 289-293-296—878 to tie for 10th with New Mexico State, which wound up at 292-294-292—878.
Sacramento State was 13th at 297-298-288—883, San Diego State tied for 15th at 291-294-308—893 and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo was 17th at 305-300-292—897.
Heck, a Stanford freshman from Memphis, Tenn., claimed her fifth individual title of the season at 68-67-67—202, 11-under, followed by Ye, a sophomore from China, at 69-66-68—203, Maja Stark of Oklahoma State at 67-69-70—206, YuSang Hou of Arizona at 70-71-66—207 and Kajsa Arwefjall of San Jose State at 72-71-67—210.
Brigitte Thibault of Fresno State carded a score of 70-73-68—211 to tie for sixth with Emilia Migliaccio of Wake Forest, who finished at 71-69-71—211, Anna Zanusso of Denver, who shot 70-70-71—211, and Emily Mahar of Virginia Tech, who wound up at 70-69-72—211.
Arwefjall, Thubalt and Zanusso advanced to the NCAA finals as individuals.
Brooke Seay of Stanford posted a score of 68-68-76—212 to tie for 10th with Becca DiNunzio of Virginia Tech, who came in at 76-67-69—212.
Amelia Garvey led USC in a tie for 12th at 70-70-73—213, Sara Kjellker of San Diego State tied for 18th at 69-72-74—215, while Caroline Hwang of Pepperdine shot 77-68-71—216 to finish in a tie for 24th that included Vanessa Wang of Cal Poly SLO, who wound up at 71-71-74—216.
Tess Blair of Sacramento State tied for 33rd at 72-74-71—217, Brittany Shin of Cal State Fullerton tied for 57th at 72-77-75—224, and Holland Shourds of Long Beach State tied for 73rd at 81-70-77—228.
Rounding out the scoring for team champion Stanford were Aline Krauter, who shot 71-73-70—214 to finish in a tie for 15th that included teammate Sadie Englemann, who finished at 67-70-77—214.
