Spencer-McKean Romp to Fresno 4-Ball Title

Chad Spencer and George McKean ran away with the Fresno City Four-Ball Championship, winning by eight strokes at Riverside Golf Course http://www.playriverside.com in Fresno.

Spencer (pictured), men’s golf coach at Fresno State who plays out of Copper River Country Club, and McKean, from Kings River Golf and Country Club, posted a score of 60-64—124, 20-under-par. They collected 10 birdies and an eagle during the first round.

Matt Hovan of E-Club North Bay and Daniel Semmler California Golf Club shot 68-64—132 to tie for second with T.J. Masters and Landon Polterock of Copper River Country Club.

Jake Bettenecourt of Dragonfly Golf Club and Michael Pavano of Fresno Clubhouse shot 67-70—137 to tie for fourth with Daniel Cliff and Michael Cliff of E-Club Fresno, who finished at 69-68—137, and Danny Paniccia of Sunnyside Country Club and Mike Stieler of Spring Creek Golf and Country Club, who wound up at 68-69—137.

Jason and Ryan Higton of San Joaquin Country Club, who won this tournament in 2012 and 2016, totaled 69-70—139 to tie for seventh with Tim Beach and Brian Jones of Butte Creek Country Club, who finished at 70-69—139, and Jason Pace and Michael Walter of Belmont Country Club, who wound up at 68-71—139.

Chris Cuttone and Ron Ewing of Merced Golf and Country Club shot 68-72—140 to tie for 10th with Luke Oehlschlaeger of Sunnyside Country Club and Matt Oehlschlaeger of Kings River Country Club, who also came in at 68-72—140.
