Shetler, Chen Win NCGA Jr. Fall Series Titles

Caleb Shetler of Saratoga captured the Boys Division and Claire Chen of Fremont took home the Girls Division title in the 2018 Junior Tour of Northern California Fall Series tournament at Pajaro Valley Golf Club  http://www.pajarovalleygolf.com/ in Watsonville.

The 17-year-old Shetler (pictured), who won the Golfweek Northern California Junior Open in April and the Santa Clara County Championship in June, carded a score of 8-70—138, 4-under-par, to win by one stroke over Nathan Wang of Fremont, who finished at 67-72—139.

Alexander Iniakov of Prunedale was third at 69-73—142, followed by Krishan Patel of San Jose at 71-73—144, and Kyle Kuest of Fresno at 76-69—145.

Jose Calderon of Salinas shot 76-70—146 to tie for sixth with Griffin Long of Davis, who finished at 73-73—146, George McNeely of Carmel, who wound up at 72-74—146, and Jared Tungol of Rocklin, who also came in at 72-74—146.

Scout McNealy of Portola Valley was 10th at 75-72—147.

Chen, 13, who finished second in the Mountain View Junior Championship last year, carded a score of 79-70—149, while Mika Jin of Fremont finished second at 74-76—150, followed by Emily Luo of Danville at 75-76—151.

Emily Hou of San Ramon shot 81-71—152 to tie for fourth with Kiara Romero of San Jose, who finished at 76-76—152.

Sydney Sung of Palo Alto totaled 79-75—154 to tie for sixth with Ashley Pan of Moraga, who finished at 78-76—154, Kimberly Burch of Dublin, who wound up at 75-79—154, and Aishvarya Bedi of San Jose, who came in at 75-79—154.

Claire Wright of Chowchilla shot 82-74—156 to tie for 10th with Andrea Gomez, who finished at 79-77—156, and Cynthia Zhang of Milpitas, who wound also up at 79-77—156.
