SCPGA Senior champ Sowinski in National event

Gary Sowinski of the Hodges Golf Learning Center in Escondido, the 2016 Southern California PGA Senior champion, leads 11 SCPGA members who are playing in the 28th National Senior PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Sowinski (pictured) claimed the SCPGA title by two strokes in August at Rustic Canyon Golf Club in Moorpark.

The other Southern Californians competing in the tournament are Gregory Casagranda, also of the Hodges Golf Learning Center; Jim Detrixhe of Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades; Paul Dietsche of Redlands Country Club; Mike Fergin of Mesa Verde Country Club; Jon Fiedler of Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo; Barry Mahlberg of Stadium Golf Center in San Diego; Mike Mitchell of The Hideaway in La Quinta; Tim Parun, a PGA Life Member from San Diego; Chris Starkjohann, a Life Member Active from Oceanside, and Alexander Valentine of Travel Leaders in San Diego.
