The 19-year-old Scholtes, a sophomore at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo who shared the title in the Battle of the Rock at UC Riverside last season, posted a score of 72-72—144, 2-over-par, while Foster was second at 71-75—146, followed by Tori James of Lafayette at 75-74—149, Anne Transier of Prescott Valley, Ariz., at 73-77—150 and Aya Enkoji of Fresno at 76-79—155.
Naomi Wong of Honolulu was sixth 77-81—158, followed by Chloe Wong of Honolulu at 79-80—159, Etivise Latu of East Palo Alto at 72-78—160, Soran Lim of Villa Park at 84-83—167 and Vanessa Giampaoli of Danville at 84-91—175.
Rick James of San Jose won the Senior title with a score of 70-71—141, followed by Jeff Britton of Carmel at 70-72—142, Jay Weiss of San Jose at 73-70—143, Rich Rowley of San Jose at 74-72—146 and Frank Madrigal of Oakdale 72-76—148.
Steve Donnelly of Salinas shot 78-71—149 to tie for sixth with Matt Vukicevich of Kenwood, who finished at 73-76—149, while James Nelson of San Jose was eighth at 74-78—152, followed by Dave Soika of Capitola at 78-75—153 and Cesar Orozco of San Jose at 80-75—155.
Ron Johnson of Walnut Creek took the Super Senior title with a score of 70-69—139, followed by Frank Pieper of Carmel at 71-70—141 and David Hemrick of Aptos at 72-72—144, while Rich Gleghorn of Santa Cruz totaled 73-72—145 to tie for fourth with James Welsh of San Jose at 73-72—145.
Mark Miller of Clayton shot 74-74—148 to tie for sixth with Tony Wilmer of San Mateo, who wound up at 73-75—148, while Neil Duffy of Santa Cruz finished at 74-76—150 to tie for eighth with Greg Saiki of Sanger, who came in at 73—77—150, and Thomas Phillips of Modesto was 10th at 72-80—152.
