Sawin Claims 27th Stocker Cup by 1 Stroke

John Sawin of Pebble Beach came from three strokes behind in the final round to win the 27th Stocker Cup by one stroke over three players at the Preserve Golf Club in Carmel.

Sawin, who also won the tournament in 2013, made an eagle on the 13th hole and added five birdies in the final round to win with a score of 72-68-67—207, 9-under-par.

“I told my playing partners that I eagled No. 13 when I won this thing five years ago,” said Sawin, who recently became Vice President and Director of Golf at Pebble Beach Golf Links. “That combined with my birdie on No. 16 were so big coming down the stretch.”
