Sargent-Martin Win SCPGA Pro-Lady Title

PGA pro Tom Sargent and Monica Martin of Mesa Verde Country Club made a birdie on the first playoff hole to defeat pro Cory Chavez and Kim Jordan of Hacienda Golf Club and claim the Southern California PGA’s 2018 Professional-Lady Championship at Palos Verdes Golf Club https://www.pvgc.com in Palos Verdes Estates.

Sargent and Martin posted a score of 5-under-par 66 under the Pinehurst format, with Chavez and Jordan matching that score.

Pro Jim Detrixhe and Akemi Khaiat of Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades were third at 69, while pro Andrew Alderdice and Ailam Newkirk of Newport Beach Country Club shot 70 to tie for fourth with pro Andrew Kramer and Neomi Hunt of Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.

Pro Joe Grohman and Sue Ewart of El Dorado Park Golf Course in Long Beach totaled 71 to tie for sixth with pro Scott Talbot and Sophie Bergland of Palos Verdes Golf Club, pro Chi Choi and Debbie Kim of Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, and pro Kirk Karasawa and Colette Rosenberg of Riviera Country Club.

Pro Rick Johnson of Callaway Golf and Marsha Butler of the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo finished at 72 to tie for 10th with pro Mike Fergin and Ellen Stewart of Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa, pro Scott Heyn and Vicki Martin of the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, and pro Brian Smock and Kathie Beebe of Coronado Municipal Golf Course.
