Kethan Reddy of San Diego led much of the way en route to winning the Yorba Linda City Championship by three strokes over Bradley Smolinski of Rancho Santa Margarita at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda.
The 29-year-old Reddy posted a score of 71-69—140, four-under-par, while Smolinski was second at 76-67—143, followed by Brannon of Anaheim at 73-71—144, Aidan Valdez of San Clemente at 72-73—145, and Tegan Andrews of Agoura Hills at 74-72—146.
Reddy, who played college golf and Claremont Mudd Scripps, broke through to win after tying for second in the San Clemente City Championship and the Oceanside City Championship last year.
Dennis Watson of Laguna Beach shot 73-74—147 to tie for sixth with Jay Wing of Jarupa Valley, who finished at 70-77—147, while Lance Nguyen of Huntington Beach totaled 75-73—148 to tie for eighth with Nathan Tseng of Fullerton, who also wound up at 75-73—148.
Amaan Patel of Chino posted a score of 75-74—149 to tie for 10th with Junlin Pan of Yorba Linda, who finished at 74-75—149, Cooper Nelson of Huntington Beach, who shot 73-76—149, and Michael Padilla of Carson, who also wound up at 73-76—149.
Amber Davalos of Tustin claimed the Women’s Championship with a score of 77-75—152, eight-over-par, followed by Rori Fanning of Valencia at 78-78—156, Jordyn Janert of Temecula at 86-77—163, Stephanie Tran of Orange at 84-80—164, and Meah Collins of Costa Mesa at 89-77—166.
Natalie Neal of Corona was sixth at 84-83—167, followed by Sophia Miller of Upland at 94-79—173, Ayla Keith of Bakersfield at 100-93—193, and Jackie Whiteley of Pullman, Wash., at 95-100—195.
